One Life. One Chance. What we do with it is up to us.
dont come crying to me when people start treating you the way that you treated me.
i guess what killed me the most was hearing them ask you...'did you love her?' and you shrugging and saying..."i thought i did...."
it's kind of scary to tell the one you love..'i love you more'...and realize...you're right...
it's amazing how different the world would be if you never met that one person who changed everything......
Let's face it. we've changed..we've all changed. Somewhere between summer ending & school starting...we've all gone our own directions. Hearts were broken, friendships diminished..new loves started..& new people came into our lives. We no longer spend all our time together in our circle of friends, we no longer talk for hours about nothing at all. We've changed...some for the better & some for the worse. Some of us are finding love while others are trying to let go. Even though we've changed..we all know that even though there we're all finding our own place in the world..that when we find out love , when we let go of a love, when the tears fall, or the happy smile spreads across our face..we'll come to each other because no matter where this crazy world takes us & no matter what happens...nothing will EVER change so much that we're not all best friends forever....
When you're sixteen, passions run high. A simple misunderstanding becomes life or death. You live moment to moment. & sometimes when you're sixteen, the only way to get your love back, is to take it.
All our young lives we search for someone to love. Someone who makes us complete. We chose partners and change partners. We dance to a song of heartbreak and hope all the while, wondering if somewhere and somehow, there is someone searching for us.
I never knew until that moment what it was like to lose something I never really had.
When you're a little kid, you're a little bit of everything. Artist, scientist, athlete, scholar... Sometimes it seems like growing up is the process of giving those things up. One by one. I guess we all have one thing we regret giving up. One thing we really miss. That we gave up because we were too lazy or, we couldn't stick it out or, because we were afraid.
Some people pass through your life and you never think about them. And there are some you think about, and wonder "whatever happened to them"? Dentist, maybe. Gossip columnist. No - divorce lawyer. Some you wonder if they ever wondered what happened to you. And then there are those... you wish you never had to think about again. But you do.
We didn't have to hate ourselves for getting older, we just had to forgive ourselves for growing up. |
